For London Borough of Bexley (CommunityPartnerships)
As part of the London Borough of Bexley’s Local Outbreak Control Plan, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are looking for volunteers in the community to ensure that together, we reach all our residents with information and guidance that they need to stay safe, reassured and supported in these uncertain times.
As a community champion, – We give you the latest information about COVID-19 for you to share with anyone in your community – either by posting online or discussing with family, friends and colleagues – You can then let us know what is and isn’t working and what support or additional information your community needs – You can choose to stay in touch with us on a regular basis or whenever you can spare the time, depending on what you would find most helpful, feeding back on whether the information provided to your community is effective and how else we can get the message out – We can also work together on how we can respond to any concerns, worries or tensions in the community In the event of a local outbreak, we would look to you as a Community Champion to help alleviate concerns by sharing key messages and ensuring that all residents know what support is on offer to them.
This is a really flexible role and can be carried out however you think is best to reach with the communities that you are a part of. Effective communication skills are key but this can be in person, over the phone, online or a combination of the three.
