Age UK Bexley Cycling Club hosts weekly Friday morning bike rides across the borough promoting health and fitness for older people in Bexley. It provides a service that helps reduce loneliness and offers peer support.

Main duties and Responsibilities • To assist planning our longer ride routes (10-20 miles). We are aiming for eight longer rides or day trips a year. • To test selected routes and identify hazards. To encourage safe cycling practices • To lead a group of riders for longer routes or day trips. • To map routes on our Komoot page • To attend cycling volunteer meetings and make suggestions for routes in and around Bexley • To help create an environment of peer support and healthy living for service users • Where possible assist with cover of rider leader role on our weekly rides in the event of other volunteers’ absence.

This charity takes the safety of those that use and deliver its services very seriously. We work hard to ensure all risk management and infection control measures (Covid or non-Covid) are robust and in place across all our services. Where there are concerns in relation to this commitment the charity encourages its staff and volunteers to raise any issues with its managers, trustees and commissioners
