We are looking for a Computer Security Specialist volunteer to implement and maintain our security systems. You will be responsible for preventing unauthorized access to our data and responding to privacy breaches.
In this role, you should be knowledgeable about security frameworks and systems. If you’re familiar with data protection regulations and you’re also a problem-solver and quick decision-maker, we’d like to meet you. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure is well-protected. You will also “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.
• Design IT systems and networks ensuring the right architecture and functionality • Performance maintenance activities (e.g. backups) • Ensure security of data and backup systems • Revise existing systems and suggest improvements • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems • Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans • Secure networks through firewalls, password protection and other systems • Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to legal and company guidelines • Act on privacy breaches and malware threats • Draft policies and guidelines • Provide strategic advice on using technology to achieve goals • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities • Support new technology implementation • Train users in new and existing IT systems • Help with technical issues • Produce reports
