380,000 children have been stuck in lock-down without a single book. By joining Bookmark as an online reading volunteer you can give a child the literacy support they need to be able to catch up.

Over the 6-week programme you will support the same child in Y1 - 3, during 30-minute sessions that take place twice a week. Each session involves shared reading and literacy games and we will provide you with resources and full training, to enable you to create fun and engaging reading sessions.

On the Bookmark app you pick when you want to volunteer, with sessions available during school hours. Our comprehensive training is delivered virtually and covers everything from safeguarding to how to use our online platform, so that you are fully prepared for your first programme.

If you are interested in helping children catch up on their reading, then join the Bookmark team and start a new chapter this Autumn!

What skills do I need?

We want to work with volunteers who share our passion for helping all children success and understand the importance of early literacy. Bookmarkers are kind, patient and enthusiastic.
