Opened in 1865, The Crossness Pumping Station is part of the then urgently needed main sewerage system designed by Joesph Bazelgette for Victorian London. This is outstanding example of Victorian engineering and architecture had a direct impact on the health of Londoners.

The Trust was set up to rescue, restore and preserve this unique part of London's industrial heritage and as a working museum, is committed to sharing its fascinating story. In the short term it needs to update its management systems to ensure long term viability and is working towards achieving World Heritage site status. For you, it offers opportunities for learning and sharing, companionship, personal satisfaction, having a laugh, etc

To maintain an overview of the Trust affairs, ensuring this financial viability and maintaining proper financial records and procedures in all activities.

Availability Details

Some time is required to spend on site- but most can be done remotely. Crossness opening times are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Board meetings will hopefully be bi-monthly by 2021.
