For Bexley Youth Offending Team
Referral Order (RO) Panel Members meet with the young person, their parents/carers/supporters and sometimes the victims to draw up a contract that will seek to support the young person to desist from further offending.
RO Panel Members facilitate the meeting, with one of them acting as the chair of the meeting, whilst the YOS is present for support, advice and guidance.
The panel meeting is used to explore what happened during the offence and who has been impacted, and to understand what has led and/or contributed to the young person’s offending.
From this discussion, a plan/contract is co-produced with the young person and parent/carer, which identifies how to make amends for the offence (where possible directly to the victim) and what needs to change or built upon to help the young person avoid further offending.
London Borough of Bexley residents only can apply for this position.
You will have the ability to engage effectively with young people, using a practical approach and sound judgement.
You will be a good role model with a commitment to raising the achievement and self-esteem of all young people.
Experience of working, with children and young people is desirable.
