We know that recruiting and retaining volunteers is crucial for the great work charities do so we’re here to help!

It’s important to have the right procedures and policies in place when you start managing volunteers. Investing a little time and effort in these processes can make all the difference to your charity or community group. Volunteers who feel valued, who are supported and enjoy their roles will stay longer and will put more heart into their volunteering- helping your organisation continue to do fantastic work!

How can we help?

  • Peer support for volunteer managers- If you manage or support volunteers, then the Volunteer Manager’s Network is a great opportunity to meet other people who manage volunteers and share ideas, news and discuss important issues.  Have a look at our events page to find details of our next network.
  • Information Sheets- Our information sheets give an overview of key issues that you may come across when working with volunteers. We also have a range of templates that you can download and adapt to your own needs. You can access our resources here

How do I find volunteers?

Follow these easy steps to get started:

    1. Click the purple ‘sign up’ button at the top right of this page to create an account. If it tells you your email is already being used we might already have you on our system. If that happens, click ‘I forgot my password’ to get your password sent to you.

    2. Upload your opportunities. Our team will check these to make sure everything is in order and if we have suggestions that might help your volunteer recruitment, we will be in touch to talk these through with you. Otherwise, it will be approved and go onto our website for volunteers to see.

    3. Any volunteer applications will come through to you directly and you can recruit from there!
