About Thrive Impact CIC

Thrive Impact CIC is a youth-and community-led organisation based in Thamesmead, supporting young people, women and families through grassroots projects, safe spaces, mentoring, empowerment programmes and community events.

Our work includes youth activities, women’s empowerment, healthy relationships, education, domestic abuse awareness, wellbeing support and community engagement.

Opportunity Overview

We are looking for a creative, organised and committed Volunteer Social Media Coordinator to help us grow our online presence, promote our work and share the impact of Thrive Impact CIC in a positive, engaging and professional way. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys creating content, telling stories, engaging with the community and using social media as a tool for awareness, connection and change.

What You’ll Do

  • As our Volunteer Social Media Coordinator, you may help to:
  • Create engaging social media content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Design graphics, flyers, reels, stories and posts using tools such as Canva Schedule and share approved content

  • Promote Thrive Impact CIC events, programmes, campaigns and community updates
  • Support digital storytelling by helping us share positive impact, photos, feedback and key messages
  • Help develop content ideas for youth, women’s empowerment and community projects
  • Monitor comments and messages, and flag anything that needs a response from the Thrive Impact CIC team
  • Support the launch of new campaigns and awareness messages
  • Help ensure our online presence reflects our values, tone and safeguarding responsibilities
  • All public content will be agreed with Thrive Impact CIC before posting.

What skills do I need?

Skills / Ideal Candidate

This opportunity would suit someone who:

  • Is passionate about social impact, youth work, women’s empowerment and community change
  • Is confident using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or LinkedIn
  • Has basic design skills using Canva or similar tools, or is willing to learn
  • Is creative and able to suggest engaging content ideas Is organised, reliable and proactive
  • Has good written communication skills
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, consent and safeguarding when sharing content
  • Can work independently while keeping in touch with the Thrive Impact CIC team
  • Is respectful, inclusive and professional in their communication

Thrive Impact CIC is committed to protecting the safety, privacy and dignity of the people we support. The volunteer will be expected to follow our safeguarding, consent, confidentiality and social media guidance at all times.

This includes not sharing images, names, personal stories or sensitive information without the correct permission and approval.

Depending on the nature of the opportunity, references and/or a DBS check may be required.
