Makers (Crafts)

AT THE EXCHANGE, YOU CAN GET INVOLVED IN ANY OF OUR WORKSHOPS NO MATTER WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE. You can join The Makers, our volunteer craft team, which will enable you to come along to our workshops to learn valuable craft skills. Our workshops focus on providing people with opportunities to learn craft skills in

These workshops are open to all for free or very low cost, in exchange for your time in producing something that the community can use or sell to generate money to keep our programme going and our building open for all.

All those involved will be supported by experienced craftspeople, and will be joining a wonderful community of Makers.

What skills do I need?

The only requirements to joining The Makers are COMMITMENT & GENEROSITY. We do not require that you have any previous experience in the craft, only a desire to learn and to give back.

This volunteer workshop model is unique to The Exchange, and we are still trialling it to see how it will work. Because developing a craft skill takes time, there is some time commitment involved in being a Maker.
