Volunteer Book Club Host

North Heath Library is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging individual to serve as the Monthly Book Club Host. This person will lead monthly book club discussions, help foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, and encourage thoughtful conversation among participants. The ideal candidate is passionate about literature, enjoys facilitating group discussions, and is comfortable working with diverse audiences.

Host and moderate monthly book club meetings in person Prepare discussion questions and background materials related to the selected book Foster respectful, inclusive, and engaging conversations Coordinate with library staff to schedule and promote events Assist in selecting future book titles in collaboration with staff and participants Keep attendance records and provide brief monthly feedback to staff Set up and clean up meeting space as needed Stay informed about current literary trends and popular titles Source & advertise for new members Schedule: Part-Time, 1 event monthly - Mon or Tues or Fri

What skills do I need?

Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable speaking in front of a group Experience facilitating group discussions or leading programs (preferred) Knowledge of literature and enthusiasm for reading across genres Ability to volunteer independently and reliably on a monthly schedule Friendly, welcoming demeaner with a commitment to inclusivity
