Volunteer Friendship Group Lead

North Heath Library is looking for a friendly and dependable volunteer to lead a Friendship Group aimed at bringing people together for casual conversation, social connection, and mutual support. The group is open to all community members and encourages new friendships in a welcoming, judgment-free space.

Key Responsibilities: • Facilitate regular group meetings in a warm and inclusive manner • Welcome and engage participants to ensure everyone feels included and heard • Prepare light conversation topics or casual activities to encourage interaction • Support a respectful, safe, and positive environment for all group members • Communicate any concerns or feedback to library/organization staff • Help with setup and clean up of meeting space • Promote group guidelines and encourage participation from all attendees Schedule: Part-Time, Weekly - Tues or Fri morning

What skills do I need?

Friendly, approachable, and respectful demeanor Strong listening and communication skills Reliable and consistent with scheduled commitments Comfortable leading small group conversations Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment No formal experience required, but experience with community groups or facilitation is a plus People person
