South East London Community Energy (Selce) is a local cooperative dedicated to generating clean energy locally, reducing energy use in homes and community buildings, and ensuring that no one gets left behind in the transition to green energy.

There are lots of different ways you can volunteer with Selce, depending on your skill set.

Volunteering with our Energy Advice Team: we are always looking for voluntary energy advisors to help us meet the growing demand for energy advice across South East London. If you have empathetic way with people, are good with numbers, can commit to one day a week, we’re looking for you.

For committed volunteers, we can enrol you for a National Energy Action (NEA) level 3 qualification.

Volunteer in the renewable energy projects team: Desktop analysis and research, Finding new potential sites for solar and other renewables, back-end support and database management, development of case studies, outreach

Many of our staff start out as volunteers and this is a good opportunity for someone looking to start working in the energy advice sector or for someone who would like to help out households in their local community.

“You get to volunteer on live projects and there’s a really friendly and welcoming environment.” (Lawrence, now employed as renewables project officer).

If you would like to find out anymore information, please register your interest in the role and we will send a link to join our monthly volunteering information sessions held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 11-11:30 on teams.
