Help parents and carers build strong, lasting relationships with their teenagers.

The Lioness Within Community CIC is developing Parent-Teen Bond Champion volunteer opportunities to support our Parent-Teen Bond Academy, community activities and outreach. Through our Parent-Teen Bond Connection Hubs, parents and carers can book one-to-one support sessions.

As a Champion, you will help welcome families, explain our activities, prepare session materials and assist the session lead with agreed tasks. You may also support community events, share approved information about TLWC and help gather feedback using our agreed processes.

This is a welcoming, engagement and programme support role.

Champions do not independently deliver counselling, one-to-one family support or mediation. Any concerns about a parent, carer or young person must be passed to the designated TLWC lead, following our safeguarding procedures.

The role offers an opportunity to contribute to your community, develop communication and teamwork skills, and help families feel connected and supported.

This opportunity is open to adults aged 18 and over.

What skills do I need?

A warm, respectful and non-judgemental approach to parents, carers and young people. Good listening and communication skills. Reliability and the ability to volunteer as part of a team and follow the session lead's guidance. Respect for confidentiality, safeguarding procedures and the boundaries of the volunteer role. An interest in family relationships, community wellbeing and helping people feel welcome. A willingness to learn and to ask for guidance when needed.

Relevant lived experience, community involvement or experience supporting families would be valuable.
