For Bexley Citizens Advice
Bexley Citizens Advice provides free, impartial, confidential advice about a range of issues including social security benefits, debt, housing, and employment. Our volunteers receive full training and deliver advice under supervision.
This is an opportunity to learn, and to help people find solutions to problems that can feel overwhelming. The disruption caused by covid 19 means that the need for advice has rarely been greater.
Our volunteers find the experience extremely rewarding, and some of them use their experience as a stepping stone to a new career in paid employment.
Bexley Citizens Advice is part of Citizens Advice national, which has been providing advice for over 80 years. As a volunteer you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the organisation's campaign work which aims to change policies and practices that cause individual problems.
If you don't have the time available to become an Advisor, you may be interested in our opportunity to become a Volunteer Advice Assistant.
The required skills are an ability to listen, communicate clearly, and to use a computer.
