Age UK Bexley’s lunch club will provide a safe space for older people in Bexley to come and enjoy a two or three course lunch. The club will allow a chance for socialisation and to support ending isolation among older people in the borough.
What skills do I need?
To attend and support clients at our weekly lunch club
Responsibilities
Volunteer within Age UK Bexley policies and procedures
Provide support to the clients who are in attendance
Support pub staff where needed
Attend regular meetings and an annual review meeting as arranged by the Community Development project officer
To liaise with pub staff and feed back to the Community Development project officer
Take a register of clients each week
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Attend mandatory training sessions as and when required
A genuine interest and concern for older people
Good communication skills
Computer literate
Knowledge and/or awareness of issues affecting older people
Person Specification:
Confident and able to build rapport easily
Reliability and trustworthiness
Good listening and communication skills
Organised and able to keep accurate records
Shows a commitment to inclusion and diversity and lifting the barriers of inclusion for older people (essential)
