Compassionate Neighbours visit people in the community who are lonely or isolated and/or who are nearing the end of life through age or illness for around an hour a week, with a focus on helping people to continue to be part of their local community.
You will visit someone we think you will get on with. This is not a one-way relationship - we hope that you will learn from and enjoy visits.

Ongoing support; Health and Safety Policy
Suitable for under 18s We are considering how we might be able to expand the project in the future to include 16-17 year olds but, for now, this role is suitable for 18s and older only.
Training provided You will be invited to a two-day training group to find out about the project and to learn about the Hospice, issues affecting people nearing the end of life and the role of community.
Volunteer induction You will be fully inducted.
Volunteer policy We will ensure you receive a handbook with access to all relevant policies and guidance.
Volunteers covered by insurance This role is covered by the Hospice\\\'s public liability insurance.
